MCR 2.512 WILL BE AMENDED EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2011
Effective September 1, 2011, MCR 2.512 will be amended. The amendments to the rule will involve extensive revisions as to jury involvement in criminal cases. The features to the amended rule include the following:

In State of Michigan vs. McQueen, No. 301951, decided August 23, 2011 (for publication), the Michigan Court of Appeals (3-0) held as follows:
1. The defendants’ operation of Compassionate Apothecary, LLC, (CA) a medical marihuana dispensary, is an enjoinable public nuisance. The operation of CA violates the Michigan Public Health Code (PHC), which prohibits the possession and delivery of marihuana.
