  Position Investigating Attorney
  Description

The investigating attorney will work closely with the Executive Director of PAAM’s Violence Against Women Project, the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and collaboratively with other partners. Job duties include, but will not be limited to:
1. Review police reports, witness statements, laboratory reports, medical records and any other evidence specific to a random sample of sexual assault cases and sexual assault evidence collection kits in the City of Detroit.
2. Conduct investigations into each randomly selected sexual assault case and or sexual assault evidence collection kit, including (but not by way of limitation) locating victims, witnesses, and suspects and conducting interviews with them.
3. Work closely with and make recommendations to the Special Investigator regarding the necessity of further investigative work and review the results of any further investigation.
4. Prepare or review the preparation of documents requesting search warrants and/or investigative subpoenas for review and signature by the Wayne County Prosecutor or her designee.
5. Clearly and concisely report to the Wayne County Prosecutor and/or her designee and the Project Executive Director in an agreed upon format and at agreed upon intervals, the status of each investigation, the results of each investigation, if complete, and recommend further action on each case investigated.
6. Develop, in conjunction with the Wayne County Prosecutor, MDVPTB, and the Project Executive Director, and subject to DHS approval, protocols for coordination and communication between the sexual assault advocates, Investigating Attorney, and special investigator.
7. Report to the Project Executive Director, keep accurate time and expense records, and prepare grant reports and statistical information as required. Engage in any other task necessary to accomplish the investigation, review, processing, and reporting on the randomly selected sexual assault evidence kits and sexual assault cases.
8. Work closely with sexual assault advocates to provide support to sexual assault survivors.

The Investigating Attorney will be an independent contractor with the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM). PAAM will not provide office space or other office support, except as provided for in its contract with DHS.

  Position ASSISTANT PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
  Requirements

The Eaton County Prosecuting Attorney is seeking applicants for an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney position. Must have a Law Degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan. Review and authorize requests for criminal charges, determine appropriate charge and prosecute criminal, juvenile, abuse and neglect cases in District, Circuit and Probate Courts.
