Dennis P. Grenkowicz

Dennis P. Grenkowicz was born in Alpena, Michigan in 1954. He attended Alpena Community College, Central Michigan University and Capital University Law School. He began his career in 1984 serving as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Ogemaw County, and then as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Alpena County in 1986

He was elected Alpena County Prosecuting Attorney in 1988 and was re-elected in 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004.

Grenkowicz is currently a member of the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly. He served as a State Bar Commissioner from 2000 through 2003 and as a member of the State Bar 21st Century Courts Committee.

Mr. Grenkowicz and his wife Judith have two adult children.

Current Assignments: Circuit Court, District Court/preliminary examinations, warrants, gun board, personnel management

Ms. Twarozynski has been the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney since September 2002. Prior to September 2002, she served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Alpena County since January of 2000, where she handled district court, juvenile matters, warrants and mental hearings. Prior to serving the Alpena County Prosecutor's Office, she worked as an attorney for the 26th Circuit Friend of the Court. Previously she has worked as a political analyst for the Republican National Committee in Washington D.C. and has worked in advertising sales and production for McGraw-Hill Publishing Company. She also served in the Michigan Army National Guard.

Currently Ms. Twarozynski is the Chairman of the Alpena County Building Authority. She is President of the 26th Circuit Bar Association. She is Vice-Chair of the Alpena County Republican Party and currently serves on the Executive Board. She serves as a board member of Child and Family Services. She is an associate member of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids. She is a member of the Lions Club of Alpena and the Elks.

Ms. Twarozynski likes books, music, animals, and ballet. She enjoys traveling.

 

Donald J. Dowling Jr

Current Assignments: District Court, mental hearings, paternity support orders, warrants.

Mr. Dowling has been with the Alpena Prosecutor's Office since March 1, 2005. Prior to serving Alpena Prosecutor's Office he worked in private practice. Mr. Dowling has twenty-two years of experience in criminal, estate planning, family and probate law. Mr. Dowling has had plenty of prior litigation experience in a variety of fields.

Mr. Dowling is active in many sports including softball, hockey, golf and bowling.

Current Assignments: Juvenile Delinquency, Child Abuse/Neglect

Ms Ricker has been with the Alpena County Prosecutor’s Office since January 2007. Prior to serving the Alpena County Prosecutor’s Office, she was an attorney in private practice. Ms Ricker has 13 years experience in family, estate planning, juvenile, child neglect/abuse law. She also clerked for the 26th Circuit Court for two year. She also teaches political science and law part-time at Alpena Community College.

Ms Ricker enjoys reading, traveling, and many outdoor sports including bicycling, kayaking, and hiking.

 

Nancy Yahne

Mrs. Yahne has been with the Alpena County Prosecutor's Office for over twenty years. She brought with her legal experience from private law firms. Mrs. Yahne is responsible for paternity and support orders. She also manages the day-to-day aspects of the budget at the Alpena County Prosecutor's Office.

Mrs. Yahne is married to a local attorney William Yahne.

Gloria has two children, Lynda and Doug(married to Kristina). She also has two grandchildren, Samantha and MacKenzie.

Nancy joined the Alpena County Prosecutor's Office in April 2004. Prior to joining this office, she worked for the 26th Judicial Circuit Court, Friend of the Court, as office manager in Montmorency County and enforcement for Alpena County FOC.

She also enjoys crafts, outdoor activities and playing bells.

 

Kelly Nowakowski

Part-time Victim Advocate

Kelly has recently joined our office as part-time victim advocate. She has also worked in Probate Court in the juvenile division. She attended Northern Michigan University and obtained her Associates in Business/Legal Secretary.
