Welcome to the Alger County Prosecuting Attorney's home page, on the shores of Lake Superior!

Alger County Prosecutor Karen A. Bahrman graduated cum laude from the Detroit College of Law in 1981, and while there served as managing editor of the Detroit College of Law Review.

She is a career prosecutor, having completed three internships in prosecutor's offices, served over six years as an assistant prosecutor in Marquette County, spent nearly thirteen years as Delta County's chief assistant prosecutor and been appointed as Alger County's prosecutor on December 31, 2002.

Mrs. Bahrman has lived in Alger County's Rock River Township, where her husband David operates the Bahrman Potato Farm, since 1988. They have no children, two dogs and two horses with which she competes in the sport of endurance riding.

Mrs. Bahrman's approach to prosecution is best understood by reference to the columns she has written for the Munising News, so these and other of her writings are catalogued at the link provided.
